  An interesting birthday party

  there was i all ready for a fantastic night out down the local pub to celebrate my boss's birthday.

  me, hubby and all the gang from work were there dressed in our fabulous 70's retro gear ready to partayy.

  there's me dressed in a sleek fitting psychadelic mini dress with platform silver boots and a blonde wig.. the place is packed, and i mean heaving.

  Glad you had a good time!! The cat in me would come out though and wonder what was Sister June Morgan and company doing at a club that was three deep at the bar!!! Sounds like they were there a long time. If they are like most of the J.W.'s I know, they were pretty sloshed themselves. I like to have a good time too----but I don't tattle to grown adults Mommy and Daddy that their daughter was having a good time. They should look at themselves in the mirror first. SHEESH.

  Oh yeah---they were supposed to follow the scriptures in Matthew and speak to you first. Or if they are submissive little Stepford wives they would have told their husbands and they in turn would have talked to your hubby. (GAG)

  seems to me that you could go to any one of those meetings and find a jw.. oh and weren't there alway those theocratic urban legends about some family somewhere who bought into said ponzi scam and they all quit their jobs and are pioneering now that they've gotten into it?.

  I was the sucker who threw the parties for the person selling the products. I spent money on food and beverages only to have nobody show up or worse---everyone would show up. I think they came because of the free food! Selling Princess House was big as was Mary Kay, Sarah Coventry, Avon, Tupperware, Herbal life!! These are all good products but enough already.

  Barbecue chicken/baked beans/veggies with dip/chips. The state I live in has kicked up the price on booze and you can only get the "spirits" at a booze store. What is up with that?-----so it will be wine coolers. When the fireworks start I will spend the rest of the night prying my cat off the ceiling.....

  The wife of our C.O. was on anti-depressants. She was a cute little thing--always smiling and laughing. I was out in service with her one day and she told she was feeling so much better now that she was on depression medicine. That explains why she was like a stepford wife. I don't doubt that there is a real need for this stuff but I agree with the above comments. The poor C.O. wife has too much on her plate and again I blame her husband for not taking her needs into consideration!!! MEOW

  i was usually honest about my hours for the most part.

  but there was this one time..... i was auxiliary pioneering back in april of 2000. that was also the month we had planned to go down to south carolina to visit my brother, was living there at the time.

  the trip was the last week of the month.

  When my husband became and elder and started giving the Sunday Talks, I found out that they get to count the time!!! The reasoning was that in the audience there were studies and that the "public was welcome" and therefore it was a public witness. As a female pioneer, I found that sexist. We were also told, by and elder, that the time you were on a "quick build kingdom hall" that could be counted as well. Yeah, right.

  !......................thats what jehovah`s witness parents,tell the outside world..my parents did.......the fact is..i did want to have a birthday party..i did want to get toys at christmas..i did want a tree with all the lights..i did want to go to the school christmas party..i did want to hunt for chocolate eggs at easter................tell that to your jw parents and you`ll get an ass-whopp`n..........i told my aunt i loved christmas,she always got me something...my aunt told my mom.....mom was not happy.......i did`nt support the jehovah`s witness lie....i paid the price..............when you were a jehovah`s witness kid,did you want to participate in celebrations?

  Yes, I missed the celebrating the holidays. I remember sitting in the classroom as everyone got their Valentines--including me. When I came home they were immediately thrown out!!! ( I did manage to eat some candy hearts, hehehe). I would have loved to have had a Christmas tree too.
